Key takeaways:

  • President Trump underwent medical and dental exams at Walter Reed on Tuesday, but the White House has not released the results.
  • Trump stated on Truth Social that everything from his exam “checked out PERFECTLY.”
  • White House physician Sean Barbabella previously described Trump’s health as exceptional and noted a benign diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.

The White House has not yet released the results of President Donald Trump’s recent medical and dental exams conducted Tuesday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. A White House official indicated a summary could be expected “in the next day or so,” but no further details have been provided as of now.

President Trump, who will turn 80 next month, posted on his social media platform Truth Social shortly after his visit that “Everything checked out PERFECTLY.” This visit marks his third physical exam at Walter Reed since his inauguration, following previous checkups in April and October of last year.

The White House previously described this week’s visit as including “routine annual dental and medical assessments.” Trump also saw his personal dentist in Florida earlier this month for a follow-up appointment. While there is no legal requirement for presidents to release medical records, most modern presidents have done so. Trump’s April 2025 physical was accompanied by a detailed letter from White House physician Sean Barbabella, which included vital signs, lab results, medications, and medical history.

However, no such detailed readout has been issued following this week’s exam. The White House has not responded to inquiries about whether it plans to release information on the president’s vitals, medications, or lab results from this visit.

Trump’s health has been under scrutiny during his second term. In October, during a visit to Walter Reed, Barbabella recommended another routine physical to ensure the president’s continued health. That exam included advanced imaging to rule out cardiovascular issues, which Barbabella described as “perfectly normal” with “absolutely no abnormalities.” Trump initially misstated the imaging as an MRI but later clarified it was a CT scan.

Barbabella’s October summary described Trump as being in “exceptional health,” with strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance. The president also received preventive screenings and immunizations, including flu and Covid vaccines, ahead of international travel.

In July, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition affecting blood flow in the legs, after he was seen with swollen ankles. The White House medical unit found no evidence of more serious conditions such as deep vein thrombosis. Additionally, Barbabella attributed discoloration on Trump’s hands, visible in many photos, to bruising caused by aspirin use and frequent handshaking.

Trump has publicly addressed the bruising, telling The Wall Street Journal in January that it was related to taking more aspirin than recommended, which he said was intended to thin his blood. Despite ongoing speculation about his health, no new medical details have been released following his latest Walter Reed visit.
