A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the fentanyl-related death of a 1-year-old baby at a Bronx day care.

The husband of the day care’s owner was apprehended in Mexico on Tuesday, three sources told NBC News. He had been seen on security footage at the day care on Sept. 15, the day that 1-year-old Nicholas Dominici was sickened and later died, according to a criminal complaint.

The husband was last seen carrying bags out the back alley of Divino Nino Day Care on Sept. 15, after the babies inside were exposed to fentanyl. He was arrested in Mexico while on a bus to the city of Culiacan, which is a hub for the most powerful drug cartel in the world.

Three people have already been criminally charged in connection with the incident: Grei Mendez, 36, the owner of the day care center; and Carlisto Acevedo Brito, 41, and Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, 38.

The investigation into the death of Nicholas Dominici is ongoing. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is working with the New York City Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security to determine how the baby was exposed to fentanyl.
