Hurricane Watch Issued for Parts of the Northeast US and Canada, Storm Surge Watch for Cape Cod Bay and Nantucket

The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for parts of the northeast United States and Canada, stretching from Stonington, Maine to the U.S.-Canadian border. The watch is in effect from Wednesday night and includes parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

The watch covers areas from Watch Hill, Rhode Island, to Stonington, Maine, including Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. A tropical storm watch has also been issued for parts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Rhode Island, Maine and Massachusetts, including Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

The hurricane is expected to bring heavy rainfall and coastal flooding to the region on Friday night and Saturday. A storm surge watch has also been issued for Cape Cod Bay and Nantucket, with the potential for life-threatening flooding late Friday and Saturday.
