Negotiations Suspended: SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP Fail to Reach Agreement in Hollywood Labor Dispute

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have been in a labor dispute for three months, with negotiations recently suspended after the two sides failed to reach an agreement. Late-Night Talk Show Hosts Ready to Return to the Air as Writers’ Strike Ends

The Writers Guild of America, East and West, have reached a tentative agreement with the film and television industry, ending a five-month strike. The agreement includes pay increases, strict regulations for the use of artificial intelligence, and increases in employer contributions to health plans, pension plans, and other benefits. The agreement must still be ratified by the 11,500 film and TV members of the union before it can go into effect.

Hollywood Writers and AMPTP Reach Tentative Agreement After 146-Day Strike

After 146 days of striking, Hollywood writers and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have reached a tentative agreement on a new labor contract. WGA and AMPTP Resume Talks Wednesday After Failed Contract Negotiations and Writers’ Strike

After four months of failed contract negotiations, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) are set to resume talks on Wednesday. Bill Maher, host of the HBO talk show “Real Time,” had previously announced that the show would be returning to TV without the presence of writers, but reversed his decision last week in support of the strike. The WGA is encouraging its members to continue to demonstrate their commitment to the strike by attending picket lines while negotiations are ongoing.
