House of Representatives Sees Tensions Boil Over, Censures Rep. Adam Schiff, and Fails to Criticize Special Counsel John Durham

The House of Representatives has been embroiled in a fight over impeaching President Joe Biden and has seen tensions between far-right representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) boil onto the House floor. On Wednesday, the House voted to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his role in investigating Donald Trump.

During the vote on the resolution Wednesday afternoon, Greene and Boebert had a testy exchange on the floor, according to the Daily Beast. Boebert approached Greene, who was initially seated in the chamber, and confronted her about “statements you made about me publicly,” the news outlet reported, citing two sources who saw the exchange and a third familiar with the matter. Greene then called Boebert “a little b—-,” the Daily Beast reported, adding that Greene accused Boebert of having copied articles of impeachment she filed against Biden.

The House also voted to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his role in investigating Donald Trump. The resolution, which passed by a vote of 216-209, was introduced by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and accused Schiff of “abusing his power” and “engaging in a pattern of misconduct” during the Trump impeachment proceedings.

The House also ripped into Special Counsel John Durham for not being corrupt enough. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) introduced a resolution that accused Durham of “failing to investigate and prosecute the corrupt officials” involved in the Russia investigation. The resolution failed to pass, with only 191 votes in favor and 229 against.
