On Monday afternoon, a drive-by shooting in Lakeland, Florida left at least 10 people injured, two of whom are in critical condition. According to Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor, the shooting was targeted and not random.

At around 3:45 p.m., a dark-blue Nissan four-door sedan pulled up to the scene of the shooting and four shooters began firing from all four windows of the vehicle. Eight of the victims had non-life-threatening injuries, while two were in critical condition.

Chief Taylor expressed his sadness at the incident, saying, “It actually saddens me to some extent that, we consider ourselves to be a small town situated between Tampa and Orlando, and when stuff like this happens, it just kind of hits home with me a little bit.”

At the time of the news conference, police were still looking for the shooters. Chief Taylor urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Lakeland Police Department. He also asked the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

The Lakeland Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooters. The department is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
