Trump accused Iran of shooting down a U.S. Army Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz and said the United States “must” respond. Two crew members were rescued unharmed by an American sea drone, while U.S. Central Command said the crash remains under investigation.
Trump said a deal to end the war with Iran is close, but Israeli strikes in Lebanon and warnings from Tehran are straining a fragile ceasefire. Israel ordered evacuations in Tyre’s Christian Quarter before launching a heavy strike, Lebanese state media reported.
