At Least Three Killed and Four Injured in LA Shooting

At least three people have been killed and four injured in a shooting in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for help at 2:35 a.m. on a residential street northwest of downtown, and found three people dead and two injured. Police said the first call came in about an “assault with a deadly weapon” and the four victims, including three men and one woman, are all in critical condition. This is the fourth mass shooting in California in the past week and police are still investigating the incident.

Ronna McDaniel was reelected as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee on Friday, winning 111 votes in a three-way race. She had previously been appointed to the role by former President Donald Trump in 2017 and had served as chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party. The RNC's decision to reelect McDaniel will ensure continuity in the party's operations through the next presidential election and the congressional elections in 2024.

At Least Seven Killed in Half Moon Bay Shooting, Five Chinese Citizens Among Victims

At least seven people were killed in a shooting in Half Moon Bay, California on Monday, January 22, with five Chinese citizens among the victims. Huu Can Tran is suspected of carrying out the shooting, and the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco has strongly condemned the violence. The other shooting occurred on Saturday, January 21 in Monterey Park, California, leaving eleven people dead and nine injured.
