Seneca Scott, the Kings’ eldest son, defended the monument in a statement, saying it is a symbol of love, hope, and resilience. Martin Luther King III attended the unveiling ceremony and said he was “overwhelmed with emotion” to see the sculpture honoring his parents’ legacy.

Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts are searching for Ana Walshe, a 39-year-old mother of three who was last seen on New Year's Day. Her husband, Brian Walshe, is the primary suspect in her disappearance and evidence including blood and a damaged, blood-stained knife was found in the couple's basement. Brian Walshe has been described as an angry and dishonest person and had been a long-term patient at a psychiatric hospital.
