Francisco Severo Torres, 33, was arrested and charged with federal crimes after allegedly attempting to open an emergency exit door and attacking a flight attendant on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston. Torres allegedly attacked the flight attendant with a broken metal spoon, attempting to stab the neck three times, but the flight attendant was able to fend off the attack and restrain Torres until the plane landed. The U.S. Attorney's Office is continuing to investigate the incident and urging anyone with information to contact them.

The FAA is investigating a "close call" between a JetBlue flight and a Learjet that took off without clearance at Boston Logan International Airport on Monday night. An air traffic controller instructed the pilot of the Learjet to line up and wait on Runway 9 while the JetBlue Embraer 190 landed on Runway 4-Right, but the controller then instructed the crew to "go around".
