Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts are searching for Ana Walshe, a 39-year-old mother of three who was last seen on New Year’s Day in her home in the wealthy Boston suburb. Her husband, Brian Walshe, 47, is the primary suspect in her disappearance.

According to police, evidence was found in the couple’s basement, including blood and a damaged, blood-stained knife. Brian Walshe also allegedly spent $450 on items including cleaning supplies, mops and tape the day after his wife was last seen.

Brian Walshe has been described by relatives and family friends as an angry and dishonest person who had swindled money from his father, Dr. Thomas Walshe, and had been disinherited. Jeffrey Ornstein, a close friend of the father, wrote in an affidavit that Brian Walshe was “diagnosed as a sociopath” and had been a long-term patient at a psychiatric hospital in Stockbridge.

The attorney for Brian Walshe is not commenting on the case. An assistant for attorney Tracy Miner has said via email that her focus is on defending Mr. Walshe in court.
