Actor Richard Moll, best known for his role as the eccentric but gentle giant bailiff “Bull” Shannon on the original “Night Court” sitcom, has passed away at the age of 80.

Moll appeared on the show from 1984-1992, forming a close friendship with the court’s other bailiff, Roz Russell, played by Marsha Warfield. His character was known for his catchphrase, “Ohh-kay,” and became a fan favorite.

After “Night Court” ended, Moll contributed his trademark gravelly voice to various video games and comic book projects, including “Batman: The Animated Series.” He also attended the 8th Annual TV Land Awards at Sony Studios in 2010.

Moll died Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, California, publicist Jeff Sanderson confirmed to CBS News in a statement.

Moll is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and his two sons, Christopher and Nicholas. He will be remembered for his iconic role on “Night Court” and his many other contributions to the entertainment industry.
