Eight children who were abducted from Arkansas were found in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in California over the weekend. Anderson Police Department in California said in a news release that a concerned citizen called them to the parking lot around 12:30 a.m. Saturday after seeing a woman displaying bizarre behavior.

The woman was identified as 36-year-old Trista Fullerton, who was wanted on a felony warrant related to the children’s disappearance. She is accused of kidnapping her children from their foster homes after she lost her custodial rights.

When police arrived, they found Fullerton with six of the eight children in a white Dodge pickup truck with Arkansas plates. A welfare check was requested for her and the children.

Fullerton was arrested and taken into custody. The other two children were found in a nearby location. All eight children were taken to a local hospital for evaluation and are now in the custody of the California Department of Social Services.

The Anderson Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident. No further information is available at this time.
