Russell Brand, the actor and comedian, has been accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse by four women. This follows a joint investigation by the Times of London, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches. In response, Tavistock Wood Management Agency, Brand’s management agency, has terminated all professional ties with him.

On Saturday, Brand appeared on stage for the first time since the allegations were published. He performed at a sold-out stand-up show at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in northwest London as part of his Bipolarisation tour. Brand arrived late due to traffic and thanked his fans for showing up. He alluded to the allegations, saying there were certain topics he couldn’t discuss.

In a statement published on Sunday, Tavistock Wood Management Agency said they believe they “were horribly misled by him.” They said, “Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him.”

The allegations against Brand remain under investigation. No charges have been filed against him. Brand has not yet responded to the allegations or the statement from his management agency.
