Megan Thee Stallion Speaks Out at Tory Lanez Sentencing Hearing: “I Will Never Be the Same

Hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out about her experience of being shot by rapper Tory Lanez three years ago. During the sentencing hearing, which is expected to continue into Tuesday, Megan gave a statement which was read by Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta.

Megan said that she had struggled with whether to appear in person to give her statement, but that she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again.” In her statement, Megan said that she had not experienced a single day of peace since the shooting. She also said that she was “slowly but surely, healing and coming back, but I will never be the same.”

The sentencing hearing comes after Tory Lanez pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in February of this year. The plea agreement includes a sentence of two years of formal probation and a $2,500 fine.

The shooting occurred in July of 2020, when Megan and Tory were in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. Megan had previously said that Tory had shot her in the feet after an argument. Tory has denied the allegations, but has since apologized for the incident.
