Sabrina Carpenter wins temporary restraining order against alleged stalker

A Los Angeles County court granted Sabrina Carpenter a temporary restraining order against William Applegate, whom she accuses of stalking her, trying to enter her home and returning to the neighborhood after his arrest. The order requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Carpenter, her sister and her sister’s partner.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have come under fire for submitting letters to the court in support of their former co-star Danny Masterson, who was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for sexual assault. The letters described Masterson as an “outstanding older brother figure” and a “role model”, causing one of the victims to tweet in response. Kunis and Kutcher have since released a statement expressing regret for their words and acknowledging the pain they caused.

Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out about her experience of being shot by rapper Tory Lanez three years ago, saying she has not experienced a single day of peace since the incident. During the sentencing hearing, which is expected to conclude on Tuesday, Megan gave a statement which included her struggles with appearing in the same room as Tory again and the lasting impact the shooting has had on her life. Tory Lanez has pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and faces a sentence of two years of formal probation and a $2,500 fine.

Judge Denies Tory Lanez’s Motion for New Trial, Sentencing Hearing Scheduled for April 23

Rapper Tory Lanez has been denied a motion for a new trial by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday, and is now facing sentencing for the three felonies he was convicted of in December for shooting hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in the feet and wounding her. The maximum sentence for the charges is 22 years and 8 months in state prison, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has said that it will not seek the maximum sentence. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 23, 2021.

20-year-old Pleads Guilty to Killing Rapper Pop Smoke in February 2020 Home Invasion Robbery

In February 2020, a 20-year-old man pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery in connection with the killing of rapper Pop Smoke. The 20-year-old was 17 at the time of the shooting and was one of four men charged in the incident. Pop Smoke's death has been mourned by many in the music industry, and his posthumous album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in July.
