Houston, TX – On Thursday, the Texas Center for the Missing announced that 25-year-old Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV, who had been reported missing in March 2015, had been living with his mother, Janie Santana, under false names for the past eight years.

Houston police detectives said that while they have declined to bring false report charges against Santana and Farias, their investigation is still ongoing. It is unclear where Farias had been living since his disappearance.

Pauline Sanchez, Farias’ aunt, said she saw her nephew for the first time in eight years on Thursday night. She said he was “doing well” but that he no longer wanted to see or live with his mother.

Farias made national headlines last week when he was found lying on the ground outside of a church in southeast Houston. He was taken to the hospital and is now staying with a friend.

The Texas Center for the Missing said that while they are glad Farias has been found, they are still investigating the circumstances of his disappearance. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.
