Sen. Elizabeth Warren Announces Reelection Bid, Outlines Ambitious Policy Agenda for Third Term in Office

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts announced Monday that she will run for reelection and laid out an ambitious policy agenda for her third term in office. The video posted online announcing her reelection bid features Massachusetts residents touting her accomplishments during her tenure in the Senate and Warren detailing her plans for another six years in office.

Warren’s plans for her third term include imposing a wealth tax on billionaires, making child care more affordable, protecting coastal communities, improving the state’s transportation system, and enacting more stringent rules on banks. “The last ten years have taught us that when we organize, when we hold those in power accountable, when we fight righteous fights, then we can make positive change,” Warren said in the video.

The video of her announcement also featured constituents and lawmakers praising Warren’s fight to make positive change. “We’ve seen the powerful forces against us and how extreme the Republicans are,” Warren said in the video.

Warren has been in office since 2012 and ran unsuccessfully for the White House in 2020. If elected for a third term, she plans to pass a wealth tax on billionaires, make child care universally accessible and affordable, prepare for climate emergencies, and improve Massachusetts’s transportation system.
