Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney has predicted that former President Donald Trump will be indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney in relation to a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

In an interview with CNN This Morning, Mulvaney stated that he expects criminal charges to be brought against Trump, citing the political pressure on District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the timing of the case.

The grand jury has been investigating whether Trump falsified business records in connection with the payment to Daniels. The 23 New Yorkers have been meeting up to three times a week for more than two months in the Trump matter, but last convened to hear evidence in that case on Monday.

Mulvaney said that there is no reason for Bragg to go this far down the path without bringing criminal charges. He added that he expects an indictment to be issued soon.

It is worth noting that grand juries in New York are often asked to consider evidence in multiple cases. It is unclear when the grand jury will make a decision in the Trump case.
