Wersching passed away Sunday morning in Los Angeles following a battle with cancer, her publicist told The Associated Press. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and had appeared on dozens of television shows over the course of her two-decade career.

Actor Abigail Spencer, who appeared with Wersching on the sci-fi series “Timeless,” tweeted, “We love you Annie Wersching. You will be deeply missed.” Neil Druckmann, who created “The Last of Us,” wrote on Twitter that “We just lost a beautiful artist and human being.”

According to a GoFundMe for her husband, Stephen Full, and three children Freddie, 12; Ozzie, 9; and Archie, 4, Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and continued working. The fundraiser said, “She wanted to live her life, on her terms, and be with her family. She’s a private person by nature, and the diagnosis made her even more so. Annie lived for her children and husband.”
