Bryan Kohberger Transferred from Pennsylvania County Jail to State Police Custody, Faces Possible Death Penalty for November Murders of Four University of Idaho Students

The Pennsylvania court system has confirmed that Bryan Kohberger, the 28-year-old accused of the November slayings of four University of Idaho students, has been transferred from the county jail to the custody of Pennsylvania State Police.

Kohberger, a doctoral student at Washington State University, was arrested and charged as a suspect in the November murders. He had been held without bond at the Monroe County Correctional Facility before agreeing to be extradited to Idaho on Tuesday.

The jail warden confirmed that Kohberger was no longer detained at the Monroe County Correctional Facility and instead in the custody of Pennsylvania State Police. It is believed that Kohberger is being transported to Idaho to face first-degree murder charges.

The Pennsylvania court system has not released any details about Kohberger’s transfer from the county jail to Idaho. It is unclear when Kohberger will arrive in Idaho and when he will appear in court.

Kohberger is accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. It is unclear at this time what Kohberger’s defense will be.
