Transgender Clinic Patients File Lawsuit Against Vanderbilt University Medical Center for Alleged Privacy Violations

Two transgender patients have filed a lawsuit against Vanderbilt University Medical Center alleging that the hospital violated their privacy by providing their records to the Tennessee Attorney General's Office. The lawsuit seeks to prevent Vanderbilt from releasing any additional records and to have the records already sent to the Attorney General destroyed, as well as damages for the alleged violation of privacy. The Attorney General's Office has stated that they are conducting a "run of the mill" fraud investigation and are reviewing the complaint.

Former Tennessee State Lawmaker and Chairperson of the State Democratic Party, Roy Herron, Passes Away After Jet Ski Accident

Roy Herron, a Tennessee state lawmaker and former chairperson of the state Democratic Party, passed away on Sunday due to injuries sustained in a jet ski accident. He was a champion of education and healthcare, and a strong supporter of the Tennessee Promise. His death has been met with an outpouring of grief from his colleagues and constituents, with Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee saying, “He will be remembered for his tireless work on behalf of his constituents and his commitment to making Tennessee a better place.”
