Chemours will pay and spend at least $450 million to resolve federal and state claims that its plants illegally discharged PFAS chemicals for more than a decade. A five-day manhunt for convicted murderer Bradley Gillespie ended Sunday when a body was found in the Ohio River near Henderson, Kentucky. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to confirm the identity of the body, which is believed to have been in the water for four to five days. Authorities believe the body is Gillespie's and have declared the case closed.
Three barges carrying methanol, soy, and corn broke free from their tugboat on the Ohio River in Louisville, Kentucky, and are now pinned against the McAlpine Dam site. Louisville Emergency Management has said that there is no evidence of a tank breach or any leaks, and crews are currently working to remove the barges from the river. The cause of the barges breaking free is still unknown, and the public has been urged to stay away from the area.
