FIFA Announces Agreement for Unprecedented Three-Continent 2030 World Cup Project

FIFA has announced an unprecedented three-continent project for the 2030 World Cup, with Europe, Africa, and South America all included. The tournament will open in Uruguay's Centenario Stadium, the site of the inaugural 1930 World Cup final, and will be the first to include 48 teams. The process of selecting the host countries for the tournament will now begin, with the tournament expected to take place in summer of 2030.

Silentworld Foundation Announces Discovery of the Montevideo Maru, Australia’s Largest Maritime Wartime Loss

A team of explorers have discovered the wreck of the Montevideo Maru, a Japanese ship that was torpedoed off the coast of the Philippines in 1942, resulting in Australia’s largest maritime wartime loss of 1,080 lives. Located at a depth of over 13,120 feet, the Silentworld Foundation is now working with the Australian government to protect and respect the site, as well as create a memorial to commemorate the lives lost.
