The Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes, Florida has relocated a book containing Amanda Gorman's poem "The Hill We Climb" from the elementary section of its K-8 library to the middle school section, following a parent's complaint. Elmo Lugo, a representative from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, confirmed the relocation and said the decision was made by a committee at the school.
The Hyatt Regency Miami is facing the potential revocation of its liquor license after hosting a Christmas-themed drag show in December that allegedly allowed minors to attend. The complaint filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation states that the event was “lewd” and “vulgar” and that minors were admitted, and that the hotel failed to properly enforce its admission policy. The administration of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now seeking to revoke the hotel’s liquor license, with the consequences of the revocation yet to be determined.
