A new poll shows former President Donald Trump leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican primary race by 37 percentage points. Thomas Massie (R-KY) joked that DeSantis should get indicted to boost his poll numbers, but the poll showed Trump ahead even on DeSantis' signature issue of "fighting wokeness". Political analyst Hasan concluded that Trump has the race "to lose".

The Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes, Florida has relocated a book containing Amanda Gorman's poem "The Hill We Climb" from the elementary section of its K-8 library to the middle school section, following a parent's complaint. Gorman expressed her disappointment in a tweet, arguing that it was a violation of children's right to free thought and free speech. Elmo Lugo, a representative from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, confirmed the relocation and said the decision was made by a committee at the school.

Hyatt Regency Miami Faces Liquor License Revocation After Allegedly Allowing Minors to Attend Christmas-Themed Drag Show

The Hyatt Regency Miami is facing the potential revocation of its liquor license after hosting a Christmas-themed drag show in December that allegedly allowed minors to attend. The complaint filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation states that the event was “lewd” and “vulgar” and that minors were admitted, and that the hotel failed to properly enforce its admission policy. The administration of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now seeking to revoke the hotel’s liquor license, with the consequences of the revocation yet to be determined.
