On Tuesday afternoon, a large industrial fire broke out at a recycling plant in Richmond, Indiana, forcing the evacuation of approximately 2,000 people. The fire is expected to burn for days and Indiana State Fire Marshal Steve Jones has warned of the toxic smoke it is producing. The Richmond Fire Department and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office are working together to ensure the safety of the community and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine announced on Friday that he will be running for a third term in 2024, after grappling with an eight-year commitment at age 64. Kaine said he has been honored to serve people as a missionary, civil rights lawyer, and elected official and looks forward to continuing to serve the people of Virginia for another term.
