Suspect Arrested and Charged in Decade-Old Gilgo Beach Serial Killings

Rex Heuermann, 59, has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of three women whose remains were found on a beach roadway in Long Island more than a decade ago. Heuermann is being held without bail and authorities are coordinating with other states to determine if he is connected to other unsolved murder cases. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Suffolk County Police Department.

Suspect Taken Into Custody in Connection with Long Island Serial Killer Case

After more than a decade of searching, a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the unsolved murders of at least 10 women whose bodies were found on Long Island's Gilgo Beach. The suspect is from Massapequa, and there is a large police presence in Massapequa Park. Eleven sets of remains have been found in the area, but it is unclear if the suspect is connected to all of them.
