A 6-year-old boy in Texas has died after spending two months on a hospital ventilator following an attack by his neighbor in September. Daniel Logan, 39, has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond. A GoFundMe page was set up to help cover the costs of Jeremy’s medical care and funeral expenses, and has raised over $50,000.

After 12 days of captivity, Luis Manuel Díaz, the father of Liverpool striker Luis Díaz, has been released by the National Liberation Army (ELN). The Colombian government's delegation, which is currently in peace negotiations with the ELN, announced the release and thanked the ELN for their cooperation. The international community has welcomed the news, and the younger Diaz has expressed his relief and gratitude for his father's release.
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Ryan Feltner was injured in the second inning of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after being hit in the head by a line drive. Manager Bud Black said Feltner has a skull fracture and concussion, but is overall "fine". He has been placed on the 15-day injured list and the Rockies have not yet announced a replacement for Feltner in the starting rotation. This is the second time this season that Feltner has been injured, and he has a 3-4 record with a 5.48 ERA in 11 starts this season.
