On Saturday night, a fire broke out at Disneyland during the "Fantasmic!" show when a large animatronic dragon became engulfed in flames. Anaheim Fire and Rescue personnel assisted the Disneyland Fire Department in extinguishing the fire, and about 1,000 people were evacuated from the area. No guests or visitors were injured in the incident, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Disneyland's Splash Mountain is set to close on May 31, 2021 and be replaced by Tiana's Bayou Adventure, an attraction featuring the first Black princess in Disney history. The new ride will feature the same flume ride technology, but with a new soundtrack and animatronics themed around Princess Tiana's adventures in the Louisiana bayou. The ride is expected to open in the near future and provide an inclusive experience for guests.
