A 58-year-old white woman has been arrested and charged with manslaughter with a firearm and other offenses, after fatally shooting her 35-year-old Black neighbor in Ocala, Florida. The incident has put Florida's divisive "stand your ground law" back in the spotlight, and has become the latest flashpoint over race and gun violence in the United States. About three dozen mostly Black protesters gathered outside the Marion County Judicial Center to demand that the shooter be arrested. Lorincz is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.

The organization is calling on all Americans to take action and help ensure the safety of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to travel to China in the coming weeks for high-level talks, despite tensions between the two countries over issues such as trade, human rights, and the coronavirus pandemic. The trip was originally planned for February, but was postponed after the U.S. military shot down a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina. Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance of American student Natalee Holloway, will not be extradited to the United States as planned on Thursday due to a court action filed by his lawyer, Máximo Altez. Michael Tisius Set to be Executed Tuesday Evening in Missouri Despite Calls for Clemency from International Organizations

Michael Tisius, 42, is set to be executed Tuesday evening in Missouri for the murder of two jailers 23 years ago.
