Robert Card, a 40-year-old firearms instructor, has been found dead by law enforcement near a recycling plant in the Lisbon area, eight miles southwest of Lewiston, Maine. He had been named a suspect in Wednesday's mass shooting at two businesses in Lewiston, which killed 18 people. Hundreds of state and local police and federal agents had been involved in the manhunt since the shootings. A news conference is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET Friday night to provide further information.

Maine Law Enforcement Intensifies Search for Suspect in Mass Shootings that Killed 18 and Injured 13
Hundreds of police officers and FBI agents, as well as federal marshals and personnel from other agencies, are actively searching for Robert Card, the suspect in the mass shootings that killed 18 people and injured 13 in Lewiston, Maine. Commissioner Michael Sauschuck of the Maine Dept. of Public Safety refused to comment on whether law enforcement had been warned about the suspect prior to the shootings. The search continues as law enforcement works to bring the suspect to justice.
Four people were found dead Tuesday morning at a home in Bowdoin, Maine, prompting the arrest of 34-year-old Joseph Eaton later that evening. Shortly after, several vehicles were struck by gunfire on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth, 25 miles south of Bowdoin. Eaton was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail and is being held in connection with the highway shootings. The investigation is ongoing and residents are urged to remain vigilant.
