A 31-year-old Orlando woman was killed by an alligator while swimming in the Econlockhatchee River, one of three recent Florida alligator attacks. Wildlife officials warned that alligators are present in all 67 counties and urged caution near waterways.

Louisiana authorities said Victor Rivas, 40, was attacked by an alligator after fleeing a DWI investigation into a swamp near New Orleans. He was treated for non-life-threatening arm injuries and booked on impaired driving and resisting charges.
