Former Olympian pleads not guilty in reflecting pool case

Former U.S. Olympic canoeist David Hearn pleaded not guilty to a felony charge alleging he damaged the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after a multimillion-dollar renovation. His lawyers say he only touched the water and accuse the administration of making him a scapegoat.

Justice Department threatens states over noncitizen voting

The Justice Department has warned election officials nationwide that they could face criminal charges if noncitizens vote. State officials in Utah and Arizona pushed back, saying they already follow election law and resist demands for private voter data.
