Multiple people were shot Saturday near a neighborhood festival in Toledo, Ohio, and police said they were still searching for the person or people involved.

The Toledo Police Department said officers responded a little after 5:30 p.m. local time to a report of a shooting near the Old West End Festival. Police said they found “multiple shooting victims,” and the BBC reported that the department said “many victims” were taken for medical treatment.

Authorities have not released the number of people injured or details about their conditions. Several people were taken to area hospitals, CBS News reported.

Police said investigators were actively searching for the “suspect or suspects involved.” Officials had not released information on a possible motive or the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The investigation includes scenes in the area of Delaware Avenue and Robinwood Avenue, according to police. The BBC reported that a map on the festival website appeared to show a music and food stand at that intersection. Residents and visitors were asked to avoid the area.

The Old West End Festival, according to its website, is in its 53rd year. The festival describes itself as “a two-day event celebrating one of the largest historic districts in the country with live music, multiple food markets, a beer garden, house tours, shopping, and much more.” CBS News reported that the event includes a parade, food markets and live music.

Police have not provided further details about the shooting. The BBC said it had reached out to the Toledo Police Department for additional comment.
