Jillian Lauren Shriner, Wife of Weezer Bassist, Shot by Police in Chaotic Los Angeles Incident Following Hit-and-Run Crash

In a series of events that unfolded in a Los Angeles neighborhood, Jillian Lauren Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by police and accused of attempted murder. The incident occurred after a hit-and-run crash on the 134 Freeway led to a chaotic situation in the Eagle Rock area on Tuesday. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were searching for suspects involved in the crash when they encountered Shriner, who allegedly pointed a gun at them.

The initial incident began with a collision on the eastbound lanes of the 134 Freeway near the N. Figueroa Street ramps around 3 p.m. The California Highway Patrol reported that three individuals fled the scene of the crash and entered a nearby residential area. As police pursued the suspects, they were directed to a home in the 5300 block, where the situation escalated.

Authorities stated that Jillian Lauren Shriner, 51, fired shots at the group of people who were attempting to flee and allegedly tried to break into her home. When police arrived at the scene, they repeatedly instructed Shriner to drop her weapon. After she failed to comply, officers discharged their firearms, resulting in Shriner sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Los Angeles Police Department clarified that Shriner was not involved in the initial hit-and-run incident.
