Wave of Vandalism and Protests Target Tesla Amid Backlash Against Elon Musk’s Government Role

In recent weeks, a series of vandalism incidents targeting Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations have been reported across the United States. These acts of vandalism have been linked to growing discontent with Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s involvement in the federal government. According to police and local reports, at least ten such incidents have occurred, reflecting a backlash against Musk’s new role in the government.

One notable incident took place on January 29 in Loveland, Colorado, where a 40-year-old woman, identified as Lucy Grace Nelson, allegedly threw a molotov cocktail at a Tesla Cybertruck parked at a dealership. The Loveland police reported that Nelson returned to the dealership multiple times over the following weeks, attempting to cause further damage. She was ultimately arrested after reportedly trying to set the dealership on fire and spray-painting the words “nazi cars” on the building.

These acts of vandalism are part of a broader wave of anti-Tesla protests and attacks that have emerged as Musk assumes a significant role in President Trump’s cost-cutting task force, known as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Across the nation, Tesla’s facilities and vehicles have become focal points for protests and violence, as some individuals express their opposition to Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration.

In addition to the vandalism, peaceful protests have also been organized. For instance, on March 8, a “Tesla Takedown” protest took place outside a Tesla dealership in Pasadena, California. Participants gathered to voice their concerns about Musk’s political role and its implications for Tesla’s operations. As these events unfold, they highlight the tensions surrounding Musk’s dual role as a business leader and a government advisor.
