After almost 35 years, investigators have identified the victim of a 1988 homicide and arrested two suspects in connection with the crime.

On Monday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of 56-year-old Evelyn Odom and 61-year-old Ulyster Sanders, who were taken into custody without incident on Thursday.

The victim, Kenyatta “KeKe” Odom, was found by road workers inside an old television cabinet and encased in concrete near Millwood in Ware County on December 21, 1988. For decades, she was known only as Baby Jane Doe.

However, a tip last year revealed her identity and led to the arrest of Odom and Sanders. Odom is believed to have been the victim’s mother and Sanders her live-in boyfriend at the time of her death.

The GBI is continuing to investigate the case and has asked anyone with information to contact their office. Odom and Sanders are currently being held at the Ware County Jail.
