A suspect in the murder of Detroit synagogue president Samantha Woll has been released, his attorney confirmed Saturday.

The person, whose identity has not been released, had been taken into custody Wednesday in Kalamazoo, about 140 miles west of Detroit, authorities said. On Wednesday, Nov. 8, the Detroit Police Department said that a suspect had been taken into custody.

Samantha Woll, 40, was found stabbed to death outside her home in Detroit’s Lafayette Park neighborhood on the morning of Oct. 21. She was the president of the board of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue.

The suspect was arrested in Kalamazoo, but the attorney declined to comment further on the case outside of saying the suspect was released.

The Detroit Police Department is continuing to investigate the murder of Samantha Woll. No further information has been released at this time.
