Austin, Texas – On Saturday morning, the Austin Police Department (APD) held a press briefing to provide details on an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the 9300 block of Bernoulli Drive. Interim Chief of Police Robin Henderson shared that the incident began with a 911 call at 2:49 a.m. from a woman who was screaming and said someone was stabbing her.

When officers arrived at the scene 12 minutes later, they learned that there were two other injured victims inside the house with the suspect. A third victim was able to escape the house and was found in the neighborhood by first responders.

The suspect engaged police in a shootout, resulting in three fatalities, including one police officer. A second officer and another person were injured in the shooting before the suspect was fatally shot by SWAT officers.

Henderson expressed condolences to the families of the victims and thanked the officers for their bravery. The APD is continuing to investigate the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact the department.
