A member of the far-right Proud Boys group, Christopher Worrell, was taken into custody on Thursday after more than a month of being on the run. Worrell had been on house arrest awaiting sentencing for his role in the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol when he took off, prompting an arrest warrant.

The FBI’s Tampa field office said in a statement Friday that Worrell was captured while trying to “covertly return” to his home in Central Naples, Florida. Agents surrounded the residence and went inside, where they found him unconscious and provided medical attention.

The FBI said Worrell had “night-vision goggles, $4,000 in cash, and survivalist gear” in his home. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed Worrell’s arrest in a statement.

Worrell was convicted for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and was wanted by the FBI after skipping his sentencing hearing last month. The FBI wanted poster was updated to reflect his apprehension.

Worrell is now in custody and awaiting sentencing for his violent role in the 2021 attack at the U.S. Capitol. It is unclear what his sentence will be.
