DELPHI, Ind. — Attorneys for Richard Allen, a northern Indiana man charged with killing two teenage girls, have filed court documents claiming that their client had nothing to do with the crimes and that the girls actually died as part of a ritual sacrifice.

In a 136-page document, attorneys Andrew Baldwin and Brad Rozzi said that 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German were killed by members of a pagan Norse religion and white nationalist group known as Odinists. The attorneys also requested a hearing to present evidence that the search warrant for Allen’s house was based on faulty probable cause and should be thrown out.

The two girls were reported missing on February 13, 2017, after they were last seen walking along a hiking trail near Delphi. Their bodies were found the next day in a wooded area near the trail.

Allen was arrested in July 2019 and charged with two counts of murder, one count of child molesting, and one count of criminal confinement. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The attorneys for Allen argue that the evidence against him is circumstantial and that the search warrant for his house was based on faulty probable cause. They also contend that the police investigation was flawed and that the real killers are still at large.

The attorneys for Allen are hoping that the court will grant them a hearing to present their evidence and that the search warrant for Allen’s house will be thrown out. The court has yet to make a decision on the matter.
