Early Saturday morning, a residential security camera in Pocopson Township, Pennsylvania, captured footage of Danelo Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who had escaped from the Chester County Prison on Thursday. Cavalcante had been sentenced to life in prison last month for killing his ex-girlfriend in front of her children.

The camera footage was taken at 12:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Lenape Road, approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) from the prison. Cavalcante had been on the run since his escape at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday, and authorities have not yet revealed how he managed to escape.

Cavalcante, who is from Brazil, was convicted of first-degree murder on August 16th for fatally stabbing his 33-year-old former girlfriend. The episode is currently under investigation.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office has urged anyone with information about Cavalcante’s whereabouts to contact the Pennsylvania State Police or the Chester County Detectives. They have also warned the public not to approach Cavalcante, as he is considered dangerous.

The search for Cavalcante continues as authorities work to apprehend him and bring him back to justice.
