A private Embraer Legacy aircraft crashed in Russia’s Tver region on Wednesday, killing all 10 people on board, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Services. The plane was registered to Wagner, a mercenary group led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, and had taken off from Moscow earlier in the evening.

The ministry’s statement said that the jet had seven passengers and three crew members on board. Pro-military channel Military Informant claims the aircraft belonged to Prigozhin’s team and had repeatedly flown to Belarus.

Flight tracking data shows that the jet had taken off from Moscow at around 7:30 pm local time and was heading to St. Petersburg when it crashed. The cause of the crash is still unknown.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Services has launched an investigation into the crash. The ministry has not yet released the identities of the victims, but Russian state media has reported that Prigozhin was among the passengers on board. Prigozhin is the leader of the Wagner mercenary group and had led an aborted mutiny in June.
