A Fulton County judge has ordered the release of portions of a special grand jury report into possible interference in the 2020 election by former President Donald Trump and his allies.

Judge Robert McBurney ruled Monday that the introduction, conclusion and section VIII of the report, which was compiled by a Fulton County special grand jury that spent nearly all of 2022 investigating the election subversion attempt, can be made public on Thursday.

The report was convened by the Fulton County district attorney’s office to investigate “‘the facts and circumstances relating directly or indirectly to possible attempts to disrupt the lawful administration of the 2020 elections in the State of Georgia’ and to prepare a report on whether any criminal activity occurred.”

Section VIII of the report expresses concern that some witnesses may have lied under oath. The report’s introduction and conclusion are expected to provide further details on the grand jury’s findings.

The release of the report comes after months of anticipation, as the public awaits the results of the special grand jury’s investigation. It is the latest in a series of reports into President Trump’s 2020 election subversion attempt, and it is expected to shed further light on the matter.
