The suspect in the fatal stabbing of four University of Idaho students in November is now in the custody of the Pennsylvania State Police and is en route to Idaho to face murder charges.

Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested in Pennsylvania last Friday and waived extradition in a Stroudsburg courtroom on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was removed from the Monroe County Correctional Facility and handed over to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Kohberger is accused of breaking into an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho on November 13 and fatally stabbing Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20. He will be charged with four counts of first-degree murder and burglary.

The Monroe County Correctional Facility warden Garry Haidle told CNN that Kohberger is now on a flight back to Idaho. He is expected to arrive in Latah County, Idaho, where he will face the charges.

The University of Idaho community is still reeling from the tragedy. The four victims were remembered by their friends and family as kind, hardworking, and passionate people. The university has set up a memorial fund in their honor.
