YouTuber Pilot Pleads Guilty to Federal Charge of Destruction and Concealment with Intent to Obstruct Federal Investigation

Trevor Daniel Jacob, a YouTuber pilot, has pleaded guilty to deliberately crashing his single-engine airplane in a California national forest in order to boost views for a sponsorship deal. He misled investigators about the location of the wreck and has agreed to promote a wallet in a YouTube video as part of the plea agreement. Jacob faces up to 20 years in federal prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 17, 2021.

A YouTuber known for his pranking videos was shot at a Washington, D.C.-area mall on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 31-year-old Alan W. Colie for allegedly shooting 21-year-old Tanner Cook. Cook was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, causing panic in the mall. Colie was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within a building. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
