Davis Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Former UC Davis Student in Connection with Three Stabbings, Two of Which Were Fatal

The Davis Police Department has arrested Carlos Dominguez, a 21-year-old former student at the University of California, Davis, in connection with three recent stabbings, two of which were fatal. He was taken into custody Wednesday after 15 people called in reports of a person matching the suspect's description and was found with a large knife in his backpack. He is being held in Yolo County Jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, but the police are still investigating and asking anyone with information to contact them.

Former UCLA Gynecologist Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Sexually Abusing Patients

Dr. James Heaps, a former gynecologist at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Wednesday for sexually abusing female patients. Heaps had pleaded not guilty to 21 felony counts in the sexual assaults of seven women between 2009 and 2018, and was ordered to register as a sex offender. The case has prompted the university to make nearly $700 million in lawsuit payouts and to create a new Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to better protect students.
