U.S. Park Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Near National Mall in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Park Police have arrested Benjamin Robertson, 33, of Washington, D.C. in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash near the National Mall earlier this month. The driver of a Honda Accord fled from Secret Service officers and ran a red light, striking and killing a 75-year-old Philadelphia man who was in a crosswalk. Robertson has been charged with second-degree murder and the investigation is ongoing.

Missouri Man Arrested After Crashing U-Haul Truck into White House Security Barriers with Nazi Flag in Possession

On Monday evening, a U-Haul truck crashed into security barriers around Lafayette Square across the street from the White House. The driver, Sai Varshith Kandula, was arrested and found to be in possession of a Nazi flag and is facing several arrest charges, including threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a president, vice president or family members. No injuries were reported, and the Secret Service is working with other law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident and urge the public to remain vigilant.

Tragic Death of Cycling Champion Ethan Boyes in San Francisco’s Presidio National Park

Ethan Boyes, a 10-time national champion and world record holder in the 1,000-meter time trial, was tragically struck by a car while cycling in San Francisco's Presidio National Park and later died in hospital. USA Cycling and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition have expressed their sadness at the loss of Boyes, and the U.S. Park Police are investigating the incident with a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver responsible.

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation into the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Dalaneo Martin by U.S. Park Police in D.C. on March 18th. The incident began with officers attempting to arrest Martin, which led to a physical altercation and the discharge of a firearm. The Martin family has called for the officers to be charged and the U.S. Attorney's Office has committed to conducting a thorough investigation and urged anyone with information to contact them.
