Former NHL player Claude Lemieux’s brain will be studied by the Boston University CTE Center after his death by suicide at age 60. His family hopes the research will advance understanding of brain injuries in athletes.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have won their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, defeating the Florida Panthers 9-3 on Tuesday night. Head coach Peter Cassidy had expressed confidence the day before the game that his team would play well, and they certainly did, blowing open a one-goal game in the second period to lead 6-1. The win marks a historic moment for the Golden Knights, who have only been in existence since 2017, and is the first major professional sports championship in Las Vegas history.
Bobby Hull, a hockey legend and former Chicago Blackhawks player, passed away at the age of 84. He was known for his shooting prowess, skating skill and overall team leadership, and holds the franchise record for most career goals with 604. The Blackhawks, NHL Alumni Association and the city of Chicago have all expressed their sadness and condolences to the Hull family.
