San Diego State University's men's basketball team made history on Friday night, becoming the first No. 5 seed to reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Led by guard Darrion Trammell's 21 points and five rebounds, the Aztecs defeated the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide 71-64 in the Sweet 16. This marks the first time in NCAA men's basketball tournament history that all four No. 1 seeds have failed to reach the Elite Eight.
